Pay Council Tax and Business Rates
Debit or Credit Card
You can pay 24 hour on line by Debit or Credit Card - please have your account reference handy.
Direct Debit
To set up a Direct Debit and will need your bank sort code,bank account number, the name of the account holder and the date you wish to pay.
- monthly on 1st, 10th, 20th or 28th of the month or
- weekly/fortnightly on a Monday
PayPoint Card
You can pay Council Tax by using a PayPoint card. This card can be used at Post Office's and various retail outlets throughout the town showing the paypoint sign. The card may take up to 14 days to arrive after making the request.
Post
You can pay Council Tax, Business Rates or Housing Benefit overpayment by post, please send cheques (no cash) payable to: Hartlepool Borough Council, Revenues Section, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8AY. Please write your account number(s) and address on the back of the cheque.
Cash
Payments can be made by cash at the Civic Centre cash office, Monday-Thursday 9.00-4.30pm, Friday 9.00-4.00pm.
You must make payments on or before the due date in accordance with the latest bill issued to you.
