Conservation Areas

A conservation area is an area of special architectural or historic interest, the character of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.  Hartlepool has eight conservation areas which all vary in character:

Greatham
Grange
Park
Seaton
Stranton
Headland

Conservation Area Advisory Committee
Hartlepool Conservation Area Advisory Committee was established in 2006.  It includes residents groups and amenity societies.  The committee considers strategic conservation issues across all eight conservation areas in Hartlepool, offering advice and comments on issues such as new policies and conservation area appraisals.
