Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED)
What is SAFED?
Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED) is a theory and practical driver training programme that aims to re-educate drivers in safer driving, modern fuel efficient driving techniques and to reduce a drivers risk of being involved in a collision. Training is delivered in a company vehicle using professional driver trainers experienced in the delivery of eco driving schemes.
Training can be delivered over a half or full day.
Why undertake SAFED training?
There are a number of measurable driver and company benefits that SAFED training can achieve.
These benefits include:
- Average fuel savings are between 10-15%.
- Reduced fuel and maintenance costs
- Reduced impact on the environment due to reduced emissions including carbon savings
- Reduced down time due to road conflict
- Reduced insurance premiums
- Reduced journey times, wear and tear and driver stress and fatigue levels
- Increased profitability from reduced costs
How much does SAFED cost?
SAFED costs from £80 per half day training – typically in a company vehicle on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis. For a full days training delivered on a 1-1 basis i.e. one driver training in the morning and another in the afternoon, you would expect to pay from £160.
