NDORS - Safe & Considerate Driving Course

NDORS - Safe & Considerate Driving Course

The Safe & Considerate Driving Course allows the Police to give motorists involved in a Road Traffic Collision the opportunity to attend a driver re-education course.

When a driver is involved in a Road Traffic incident and evidence is collated by the Police which indicates that they have been ‘Driving Without Due Care and Attention or Reasonable Consideration to Other Road Users', the person involved is given an option to either have the incident referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (where they may receive a fine and penalty points on their driving licence), or an opportunity to attend a Safe & Considerate Driving Course.

Course Fee: £165.00 (but may vary throughout the country)

Course Duration: Full day (9.00am-4.00pm)
Venues: Durham (Darlington) and Cleveland (Middlesbrough)

The Course is delivered by specialist Department for Transport Approved Driving Instructors.

The Course involves a mixture of classroom based driving theory and modern in-car on-road defensive driving.

After attending and successfully completing the course, no further action will be taken for this particular incident. Details of the course completion is recorded and held on a national database.

Once a driver has accepted the offer to attend a course but then fails to attend or successfully complete, the case would then be referred back to the Police for further action to be taken.
