CORONAVIRUS - Changes to drug and alcohol services in Hartlepool

Published Friday, 20th March 2020

Changes have been made to drug and alcohol services in Hartlepool as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

A telephone-only arrangement has been put in place to limit the potential for infection spread and to ensure that clients are able to continue receiving support.

Existing clients have been informed of the change and given their keyworkers’ mobile numbers should they need to contact them.

New assessments will be carried out by telephone and people have been asked not to attend the service's Whitby Street base - which normally operates on a drop-in basis - unless explicitly asked to do so.

Ensuring the continuity of prescribed medication continues to be a top priority and a business contingency plan has been implemented to ensure that prescribed medication is delivered to pharmacies and flexible options for the safe collection of medication are also being implemented.
