A North East local authority has designed a temporary rainbow logo after being inspired by children across the Borough adorning the windows of their homes with rainbows and messages of support.

Gill Alexander, Chief Executive of Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “With families observing the advice to stay indoors, the brightly-coloured images really spread the message of hope that we will get through these difficult times.

“With that in mind, we’ve temporarily created a rainbow version of the Hartlepool Borough Council logo to demonstrate we are all in this together.”

Councillor Shane Moore, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, added: “Many of the posters in windows also include messages of support for key workers and I know this is really appreciated by them at this hard time.

“We hope people like our new logo which is our small contribution to this colourful campaign.

“In the meantime, I look forward to seeing more colourful displays pop up around Hartlepool.”
