CORONAVIRUS: Clap for our carers - and other frontline heroes

Residents of Hartlepool are being urged to show their appreciation this evening for everyone working on the frontline during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Councillor Shane Moore, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, says the Clap for Carers event at 8pm is another opportunity to pay tribute to NHS staff, but also a chance to recognise the efforts of other key workers.

“Whilst our amazing NHS staff have deservedly received and continue to receive recognition, this evening is also a chance to remember the contributions of a host of other people, including social care staff, bin crews, social workers, staff working in the Council’s Community Hub, the authority's Housing Team and the many volunteers who have come forward to offer help.

“Let’s once again turn out in force as a town and pay a special tribute to all of those people who are playing such an important role in protecting the most vulnerable and ensuring that key services continue to operate.”
