Have you got what it takes to join Hartlepool’s lifeguards?
Hartlepool Borough Council’s recruitment drive is underway for this year’s beach lifeguards, to cover the main beach at Seaton Carew.
A total of eight beach lifeguards and four beach lifeguard supervisors are required for the school summer holiday period – every day from Saturday 18 July to Tuesday 1 September.
You can find out more and apply at www.northeastjobs.org.uk. The closing date for applications is Friday 17 April.
Applicants must hold a current Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification.
For those who currently don’t have one, the Council is running a RLSS National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification course. Held over three weekends, it starts on Saturday 14 March and costs £175 per person. For more information, including how to book, visit rlssuk.tahdah.me/event/detail/1333363.
Councillor Karen Oliver, Chair of the Council’s Housing, Growth and Communities Committee, said: “Our beach lifeguards play a vital role, so we are looking for high quality candidates who are fit, strong swimmers, good team workers, reliable, calm under pressure, with good communications skills. If this is you, we’d love to hear from you.”
