Your views are needed again to help shape pharmacy services in Hartlepool
Published Monday, 7th July 2025Many thanks again to everyone who took part in Hartlepool Borough Council’s survey at the end of last year to help shape the future of pharmacy services in Hartlepool.
The survey responses have been used as part of a review of the Hartlepool Health and Wellbeing Board’s Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), which assesses what services are currently available and how easily they are accessed and identifies any unmet needs.
A draft of that PNA is now subject to a period of public consultation running to Wednesday 3rd September before the PNA is later presented to the Hartlepool Health and Wellbeing Board for approval and implementation.
Councillor Brenda Harrison, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council and Chair of the Hartlepool Health and Wellbeing Board, said: “Pharmacies play a vitally important role in helping to maintain people’s health and prevent illness, so we are determined to ensure that residents have access to the best possible pharmacy services.
“The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment plays a key role in helping to achieve that, so it’s crucial that it covers the needs of people in Hartlepool.
“So regardless of whether or not you took part in the first survey, if you’ve ever used pharmacy services or are likely to use them in the future please take part in this second stage of the consultation – your views are so important.”
People can take part online at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/pna-survey.
Alternatively, they can complete a paper copy of the consultation at Hartlepool’s Community Hubs and libraries or by contacting Joan Stevens, the Council’s Democratic Services and Statutory Scrutiny Manager, on 01429 284142 or email joan.stevens@hartlepool.gov.uk
