Lenny Rolles, the RSPCA’s Senior Parliamentary Adviser for Local Government, said:
“Hartlepool Borough Council fought off fierce competition in their category to receive a prestigious 2014 RSPCA Innovator Award.
The Council developed a strategy for tackling fly grazing at a local level, working with multi-agency partners.
In the current tough economic climate, it’s encouraging to see local authorities investing in services that improve animal welfare. Everyone in Hartlepool should be very proud of this achievement.”
