A RECORD number of female-owned businesses based at Hartlepool Enterprise Centre showed their increasing strength in numbers recently at a popular business networking marketplace event.

Over 18 women-led companies currently based within the centre showcased their products and networked with other local businesswomen at the Women What Do event, organised by Women What Do.biz in partnership with the Hartlepool Council-operated centre.

Around 40 business representatives attended the evening, where they were free to browse stalls, sample food from Billie May’s Bistro and gain a fresh perspective of working life behind the scenes at the Enterprise Centre.

Women What Do.biz is an informal business network which holds regular events in Hartlepool, bringing businesswomen together to share contacts and discuss common themes.

Denise Ogden, Director of Regeneration and Neighbourhoods at Hartlepool Council, said: “The Enterprise Centre is now home to an unprecedented number of female-owned businesses, and events such as this highlight the ongoing accommodation opportunities and tailored support services available within the centre for businesses of all sizes.

“We’d like to thank Women What Do.biz for organising this event. Their network provides a fantastic platform for local, likeminded businesswomen to meet, develop contacts and potential working relationships.”
