To help protect residential streets from visitor parking, some areas in Seaton Carew are restricted to permit holders only. These restrictions apply all year round, including Sundays and Bank Holidays, from 8am to 8pm daily.
Who can apply
If you live in a permit-controlled zone, you can apply for a resident parking permit. Permits are linked to your property and can be used for your own vehicle or for visitors. They are not transferable to other households.
Permit costs
- 1st permit – £15
- 2nd permit – £25
- 3rd permit – £40
- 4th and additional permits – £40 each
- Replacement permit – £20
How to apply
You can apply online using our permit portal, or contact Customer Services on 01429 523331 for support.
Using your permit
- permits must be clearly displayed in your vehicle.
- if you change your vehicle, the permit can be transferred without prior notice as they are registered to your property.
- company vehicles can also be covered by your permit.
- visitor permits are valid only while the visitor is at your property.
- permits are valid only in your designated street or the nearest adjacent permit-controlled street.
- permits do not apply in pay-and-display bays, limited stay disc zones, or off-street car parks.
Parking rules and enforcement
- a permit does not guarantee a parking space outside your home.
- if your street is full, you may park in the nearest adjacent street within the zone.
- civil enforcement officers will issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if a permit is not clearly displayed.
- misuse of a permit may result in cancellation and a PCN.
- the standard penalty charge is £70, and the registered vehicle keeper is responsible for payment.
- enforcement is active every day of the year.
Blue Badge holders
Blue Badge holders may park in a resident permit zone for up to 3 hours, as long as a valid badge and clock are clearly displayed.
