Most landlords take their responsibilities seriously and provide safe, well-maintained homes. However, to protect tenants from poor electrical safety, new regulations now require all private landlords to have electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested at least every five years by a qualified professional.
Landlords must provide a copy of the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to tenants and, if requested, to us. These rules, introduced in June 2020, help ensure all rented homes meet essential safety standards.
