The Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSSCP) is seeking to work with suitably qualified and experienced individuals who can offer advice on multi-agency practice and service delivery across the whole safeguarding system, in the role of an ‘Independent Critical Friend’.
The CRF is a new national funding programme for local authorities in England and replaces the Household Support Fund (HSF) with the explicit intention of moving from short-term crisis mitigation towards prevention, financial resilience, and reduced reliance on emergency support such as food banks. The Council seeks to commission this service to commence 1 April 2027 for a period of 3 years with an option to extend on a rolling basis until 31 March 2032. The service is designed to enable the ‘cared for individual’ to remain in a safe, stimulating and caring environment for periods of respite care. The service will also provide peace of mind for Carers that their loved ones take their respite in a secure environment in which they are comfortable, happy and well cared for.
