Our Environmental Protection team deals with air quality and statutory nuisance, (including the monitoring and investigation, of noise and other pollution complaints) as well as providing a comprehensive pest control service.
Environmental permits
We regularly review and assess local air quality and operate our environmental monitoring system. Thanks to on-going efforts, air quality in Hartlepool has significantly improved over the past 40 years.

Statutory nuisance
We regulate certain industrial activities under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016. These permits help control emissions and ensure businesses meet environmental standards.
We investigate complaints of statutory nuisance and can take formal action under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Statutory nuisances may include:
