Winter gritting in Hartlepool
We work hard to keep Hartlepool’s roads safe during winter. Our winter gritting service helps reduce the risk of accidents caused by ice and snow.
When and where we grit
We treat defined routes in advance when severe weather is forecast.
If snow or ice continues, we may repeat treatments until conditions improve. Once priority routes are clear, we may treat other roads if necessary.
We supply grit boxes to areas with severe ice/frost issues. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, areas with steep gradients take precedence and we are unable to approve all requests.
