Choice of accommodation
Where the care planning process has determined that a person's needs are best met in a care home, Hartlepool Borough Council will provide for the person's preferred choice of accomodation, subject to certain conditions. This also extends to shared lives, supported living and extra care housing settings.
The Council will ensure that at least one option is available and affordable within a person’s personal budget whenever possible. A person may be able to choose a more expensive setting, in which case a third-party top-up will apply.
