Housing, Growth and Communities Committee

The Housing Growth and Communities Committee consists of 7 Elected Members and is responsible for Inward Investment and Economic Growth. The Committee is also responsible for Culture and Events and Learning amnd Skills. Delivery of preventative and community based services for all Hartlepool residents that support people to live active healthy lives and to participate in their local communities.

Responsibility for the formulation, development and implementation of the Policy Framework, other Strategies and Plans and service areas:

  • Strategy Development and Implementation (Playing Pitch Strategy, Indoor Facilities Strategy) (DHGC)
  • Conservation Parks and Countryside (including allotments) (DHGC)

3 The approval of new grant-aided schemes subject to specific funding being available subject to compliance with any terms of grant. 
4 Determination of usage and oversight of grant funding in relation to grants that fall within the Policy Committee’s remit, where required under the conditions of grant. 
5 Accepting, disposing or loaning out objects into the Museum Collection where the value exceeds £100,000.
