MARAC – Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference
A MARAC is a meeting where agencies share information about high-risk domestic abuse cases. Partners may include:
- police
- health services
- child protection
- housing
- Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs)
- probation
- specialist support services
The aim is to assess risk and create a safety plan for the victim and any children involved.

MATAC – Multi-Agency Tasking and Coordination
MATAC meetings focus on dangerous, serial or repeat perpetrators of domestic abuse. Agencies work together to:
- share information
- plan interventions
- support victims
- disrupt and challenge abusive behaviour
