In-year school admissions

An in-year application is for children who are already of school age and need to move from one school to another.

This may happen if:

• you are moving to Hartlepool
• you are moving house within the area
• you want to change your child’s school for another reason

Applying for more than one child

If you are applying for more than one child, it may be harder to get places at the same school, especially if:

• the year group is full
• you are applying for Reception, Year 1, or Year 2, where class sizes are limited by law
