I have an unsafe walking route
Some areas of our local authority area are deemed as an unsafe walking route to school. If you live in one of these areas, you may be eligible to home to school transport provided by us if your child meets the criteria below:
- they attend their nearest suitable school
- that school is within the statutory walking distance of their home
- the nature of the route to school means they could not be expected to walk there in reasonable safety even if accompanied by their parent (such as rural areas without footpaths)
- there is no alternative route within the statutory walking distance that they would be able to walk in reasonable safety, even if accompanied by their parent.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to apply for home to school travel assistance, please submit your application online.
