Appointment of Directors and of Chief Officers reporting directly to a Head of Paid Service or a Director
The Appointments Panel will make these appointments. That Appointments Panel will consist of:
- the Chair of the Council
- the Leader
- six other Elected Members of the Council selected by the Council
The Appointments Panel will select its own Chair and its membership will be in accordance with political balance requirements. The membership will reflect, so far is possible, both the make-up of the Council in terms of gender and age, and the different areas of responsibility within the Council’s Committees to seek to minimise any gender inequality or age discrimination.
