We manage several cemeteries and a crematorium to provide respectful and dignified services for the community.
Hartlepool Crematorium
Hartlepool Crematorium, located in Stranton Grange Cemetery, offers a tranquil place for remembrance among memorial gardens and beautiful trees. The cemetery opened in 1912 and now covers over 30 acres.
Facilities include:
- two chapels with live feed screens and audio systems
- webcast with live streaming for those unable to attend
- traditional wooden pew seating for up to 200 mourners
- wheelchair accessibility
- on-site car parking and toilets
Accessing the site
Funeral directors have a pass to access the site via the barrier on Tanfield Road. If you are part of the funeral cortege, you will also gain access. Others need to press the button on the panel next to the barrier, which will be answered by cemetery staff. If there is no response, please press the button again. When leaving, follow the same procedure. For non-funeral visits, please use the Brierton Lane entrance.

You are welcome to visit the cemeteries to look around or visit loved ones. They are open every day from 8am. Closing times vary by season: during summer, they close at dusk (around 9:30pm), and during autumn and winter, they close around 4:30pm. Please check the signs at entrance gates for exact times.
