Hartlepool Crematorium is committed to the sensitive and respectful care of all those entrusted to us. Our policies and processes for infant cremation are aligned with the latest guidance on infant cremation, as per the recommendations of Lord Bonomy’s Infant Cremation Commission, June 2014, Scotland.

Memorial masons

When purchasing a memorial and arranging installation, it is recommended that the memorial mason be a member of the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) or the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM). A Certificate of Compliance should be issued by the memorial mason to the purchaser.

Grave memorial

It is recommended that all owners of graves with memorials have an appropriate insurance policy. This will cover any repairs that may be required and public liability.
