Bereavement Information

Hartlepool Crematorium is committed to the sensitive and respectful care of all those entrusted to us.  Our policies and processes for infant cremation are aligned to the latest guidance on Infant Cremation, as per the recommendations of Lord Bonomy’s Infant Cremation Commission (June 2014, Scotland).

The Council is a member of The Institute of Cemetery and Crematoria Membership (ICCM) and The Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA).

Memorial Masons
It is recommended when purchasing a memorial and installation, the memorial mason should be a member of National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) or British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM) 
A Certificate of Compliance should be issued by the Memorial Mason to the purchaser.

Grave Memorial
It is recommended that all owners of graves with memorials have an appropriate insurance policy.  This will cover any repairs that may be required and public liability.
