Digital classroom – course checklist
Use this checklist to make sure you’re ready to join your online course.
Device requirements
You will need:
- a laptop, desktop computer or tablet with a microphone and camera
- a reliable internet connection capable of streaming video
- a fully-charged device or access to a mains power supply
You can use a smartphone, but a larger screen is recommended for a better experience.
How to join the digital classroom
Before your course, we’ll email you a link to the meeting room.
If you're using a laptop or desktop:
- Click the link in the email.
- When prompted, select Run.
- Select Join with Video.
- Enter your first name only (this will be visible to others).
- Select Join Meeting.
If you're using a smartphone or tablet:
- download the free Zoom app from your app store in advance.
- you do not need to register or create an account.

Identification check
When you join, you’ll be placed in a waiting area. The trainer will meet with each participant privately to check your ID.
You must provide photographic identification:
- preferred: photocard driving licence
- If unavailable: passport or similar official photo ID
If you wear a face covering for personal or religious reasons, you may be asked to adjust it briefly in private to confirm your identity.
Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the course. Please join 15–20 minutes early to allow time for checks and technical set up.
Important information
- you must be in a private room, alone and free from distractions.
- you must stay on camera and engage fully throughout the course.
- do not allow others in the room unless agreed in advance.
- have a pen and paper ready.
- you must not record the course or share any content from it.
