Speed Awareness Course - terms and conditions

Attendance and punctuality

  • you must arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the course
  • if you are late, you may be able to reschedule through our call centre, subject to police time limits
  • no refund will be given for late arrivals unless the delay was due to circumstances beyond your control

 It is a criminal offence to misrepresent another driver by attending the course on their behalf.

Payment

  • you must pay the full course fee at least 21 days before your course date
  • if payment is not received, you will be removed from the course register

Police time limits

  • your course must be completed within the deadline set by the referring police force
  • if you miss this deadline, your case will be returned to the police and the offer of a National Speed Awareness Course (NSAC) will be withdrawn

Refunds

  • a partial refund of £49 is available in some cases. Full refunds are not offered

 Identification

  • you must present original photographic ID such as a photocard driving licence or passport
  • failure to provide valid ID will result in refusal of entry and non-completion

Course completion

To complete the course, you must:

  • attend in full
  • be present for the entire duration
  • participate willingly

Exceptional circumstances

  • if you cannot attend due to bereavement, illness, or injury, you must provide documentary evidence
  • an administration fee may apply - see table below
  • if you do not provide evidence, your case will be marked as non-completion and only a £49 refund will be issued
  • subject to police authorisation, your deadline may be extended (in exceptional circumstances only). Should you wish to continue with the scheme an additional charge will be required

Rescheduling

  • rescheduling is subject to availability and must be within the timescale set by the referring police force
  • If rescheduling is not possible, a £49 refund will be issued and your case returned to the police and the offer of a NSAC withdrawn. The police may, in exceptional circumstances, be prepared to extend your deadline

Course conduct

You must:

  • be in a fit state (not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or extreme fatigue)
  • keep mobile phones and electronic devices switched off
  • behave respectfully. Abusive or disruptive behaviour will result in removal from the course and no refund

Course cancellation by the provider

  • if we are unable to deliver your course due to unforeseen circumstances, we will reschedule it at no extra cost

Special requirements

  • please notify us in advance if you have any medical conditions that would affect your attendance or special requirements, so that suitable arrangements can be made.

Driving

  • You will not be required to drive during the course.
