Safe & Considerate Driving Course – terms and conditions

Arrival and attendance

  • you must arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the course
  • please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time for registration
  • if you are late, you may be able to reschedule through our call centre, subject to police time limits
  • no refund will be given for late arrivals unless the delay was due to a major incident such as a road closure

 It is a criminal offence to misrepresent another driver by attending the course on their behalf.

Payment

  • you must pay by the date stated in your course confirmation letter
  • if payment is not received, you will be removed from the course register

Police time limits

  • your course must be completed within 5 months of your offence
  • if not completed in time, your case will be returned to the police and the course offer withdrawn

Refunds

  • a partial refund of £49 may be available. Full refunds are not offered

Identification

  • you must bring your driving licence.
    • If you have a photocard licence, this is sufficient.
    • If you have a paper licence, you must also bring photo ID such as a passport
  • Failure to provide valid ID will result in refusal of entry and non-completion.

Course completion

To complete the course, you must:

  • attend in full
  • be present for the entire duration
  • participate constructively

Course conduct

You must:

  • be in a fit state (not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or extreme fatigue)
  • keep mobile phones and electronic devices switched off
  • behave respectfully. Abusive or disruptive behaviour will result in removal from the course and no refund

Exceptional circumstances

  • if you cannot attend due to bereavement, illness, or injury, you must provide documentary evidence
  • an administration fee may apply (see table below)
  • if you do not provide evidence, your case will be marked as non-completion and only a £49 refund will be issued

Rescheduling

  • rescheduling is subject to availability and must be within the 5-month period from your offence
  • if rescheduling is not possible, a £49 refund will be issued and your case returned to the police

Course cancellation by the provider

  • if we are unable to deliver your course due to unforeseen circumstances, we will reschedule it at no extra cost

Special requirements

  • please notify us in advance if you have any medical conditions or special requirements

Driving requirement

  • this course includes both theory and practical elements. You will be required to drive
