The Hartlepool Working Solutions team of the Economic Development Section helps Hartlepool people and businesses to maximise employment and self-employment opportunities through innovative training and recruitment solutions.

Support for Hartlepool residents

• Employment opportunities - Hartlepool residents can access information, advice and guidance about jobs and training through our satellite office Jobsmart - 41 Park Rd, Hartlepool. Tel: 01429 278700. Jobs will also be advertised through Jobcentre Plus and voluntary and community organisations in the town.
• Training courses- short courses are available to unemployed, Hartlepool residents such as CSCS cards, Site Safety passport, Food Hygiene, First Aid, NWRSA, Childcare, Customer Service etc.
• Enterprise grant of up to £500 available for new business start ups.
• Grant of up to £500 if residents have a job offer in writing and need training, equipment or certification in order to secure a job.
• Flexible fund - a grant of up to £50 to support residents who are going into work and need a small amount of support to secure the job (must be able to confirm job offer over telephone with employer).

Support to employers

• Recruitment & Selection - we can advertise your vacancies, short list and interview on your behalf should you need the support and act as the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding your vacancies.
• Work trails and placements
• Job creation and apprenticeship subsidies
• Enterprise grants of up to £500 available for new business start ups.
• Short pre-recruitment training packages for companies expanding, relocating or simply those who need a specific skill set of which there is a shortage.
• Redundancy packages - supporting you and your workforce should you have to make people redundant.
• Employment legislation and HR policy support and advice.
• Education Business Links - linking businesses to education.

Opening Hours:

Bryan Hanson House - The offices are open from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm Friday.

Jobsmart, 41 Park Road - The office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, 9am to 1pm Wednesday, 9am to 6pm Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday.

Access Information:

Bryan Hanson House has a visitors' car park including disabled parking bays, disabled access, loop system, access to an interpretation service and lifts to all floors.
