Member Profile

I lived and was educated in Rotherham, South Yorkshire before moving to Hartlepool in 1993. I have 2 grown up sons. I am an active trade unionist and have seen at first hand the impact of pit and steel closures and the dismantling of communities caused by mass unemployment. As a result of these experiences, I have a general understanding of the issues currently facing many families in Hartlepool and in the Owton Ward in particular. I am looking forward to working with residents to overcome the problems on the estates such as: anti-social behaviour, poor health, drug and alcohol abuse and parking problems.

Marjorie has a number of roles within the Council:-

  • Member of Neighbourhoods Services Committee
  • Member of Children's Services Committee
  • Member of the Planning Committee
  • Member of the Constitution Committee
  • Member of the Appointments Panel
  • Member of Local Joint Consultative Committee
  • Member of Emergency Planning Committee
  • Member of Safer Hartlepool Partnership
  • Member of the South and Central Community Forum
