The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022

Here in Hartlepool, we will be celebrating with the rest of the nation Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee - 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth - over the Bank Holiday weekend which runs from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June.

On 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee

Thursday 2 June

Residents across Hartlepool are being encouraged to attend one of two very special beacon lighting ceremonies to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

At 9:15pm on Thursday evening, ceremonies will be held at the beacons at Seaton Carew and the Headland.

Saturday 4 June

Join us from 7pm at Elephant Rock – our award-winning outdoor events space on the Headland – as we live stream a concert featuring a glittering group of performers from the worlds of music and dance.

Queen + Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel, Elbow and George Ezra will share the three-stage set up with the likes of Duran Duran, Andrea Bocelli, Mimi Webb, Sam Ryder, Jax Jones, Celeste, Nile Rodgers, Sigala and Diversity – all performing their biggest hits in a star-studded tribute to Her Majesty’s unprecedented anniversary.

Sunday 5 June

From 12 noon to 5pm, the team behind Hartlepool Waterfront Festival have invited circus performers from across Europe to take over the historic Headland – with the Headland Squircle (Town Square) and Elephant Rock being the two main pitches.
