Hartlepool Borough Council is continuing to review empty properties within the Borough to ensure each property is paying the correct amount of council tax and the council has any changes in circumstances recorded. Certain changes to an empty properties circumstances can lead to the council being able to claim allowances from central government, like the New Homes Bonus. During this period we endeavour to make the process as easy and simple as possible. However, occasionally circumstances may not be so easy to explain.
