Homes for Ukraine
The Government's Homes for Ukraine Scheme was launched on 14 March and – clearly – Councils will have a critical role to play in the success of this initiative.

As you can imagine, this is a rapidly developing situation and we are currently working with the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to determine what our responsibilities are. At the moment, this will include inspecting homes, undertaking safeguarding checks and organising education placements for children.
The Government is providing funding to Councils to enable them to provide support to families to rebuild their lives and fully integrate into communities. The Government is also providing additional funding to local authorities to provide education services for children from families arriving from Ukraine under this scheme.
