Secondary School Meals

We currently provide Secondary school meals at High Tunstall College of Science.

Our secondary school lunches include a wide variety of tasty options which meet Government standards.  Menu options include a daily two-course lunch, pasta bar, sandwich deli bar, daily special, filled jacket potatoes, Panini options and salads to name just a few options.

To reduce queuing in the dining area, there is also an outside food POD which serves a wide range of items.

Special dietary requirements such as a food allergy, low fat and dairy intolerance etc., can be accommodated and religious preferences can be met.  We will be happy to discuss food choices that best meet your child’s needs with you.

We operate a cashless fingerprint system to pay for meals.  To upload money onto your child's account, payments can be made at the school using the cash machines but we would recommend the use of the online ParentPay website at www.parentpay.com/. This will allow you to monitor your child’s account, add money to top up their balance and also see what they are purchasing on a daily basis. Free Meal allowance will automatically be applied daily when your child is in school.

A standard secondary school lunch costs £2.60 per 2 course meal a day and various prices for individual items.

Parents claiming certain benefits can apply for free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Hartlepool school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. Please telephone 01429 284188 or click on the link to apply for free school meals online.   https://www.hartlepool.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals
