It is increasingly recognised that taking care of our mental health is as important as maintaining good physical health. A new PHE survey reveals more than eight in ten (83%) people have experienced early signs of poor mental health including feeling anxious, stressed, having low mood or trouble sleeping in the last 12 months. While these can be a natural response to life’s challenges, without action they can escalate into more serious issues – and many wait too long.

People are encouraged to visit the Every Mind Matters website to create a free personalised action plan designed to help them deal with stress, boost their mood, improve their sleep and feel more in control. Every Mind Matters will show people the simple steps we can all take to look after our mental health and be better prepared for life’s ups and downs.
