Hartlepool Community Trigger
What is the Community Trigger?
A legal right under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 for victims of anti-social behaviour and/or hate crime or incidents to request a review of how their local Council, Police Force and Clinical Commissioning Group have dealt with their reports. Housing Associations operating in an area can also choose to voluntarily be part of the Community Trigger process.
It is designed to empower victims and bring agencies together to take a joined-up, problem solving approach aimed at dealing with some of the most persistent, complex cases of anti-social behaviour.
Which agencies are covered by the Community Trigger?
In Hartlepool the Community Trigger is managed by Hartlepool Community Safety Team on behalf of the Safer Hartlepool Partnership (Hartlepool's Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership).
The agencies covered by the Hartlepool Community Trigger are: Hartlepool Borough Council, Cleveland Police, Hartlepool and Stockton Clinical Commissioning Group, along with the Housing Associations of Thirteen Group, Accent Group, Home Group, Guinness Trust, Four Housing and Endeavour Housing Association.
How do I request a case review under the Community Trigger?
Contact Hartlepool Community Safety Team by phone, email or letter (see details at bottom of page) providing details of the anti-social behaviour and/or hate crime/incidents that were reported to agencies and explaining the reasons a case review should occur.
You can also contact Cleveland Police, your Housing Association or Hartlepool and Stockton Commissioning Group who will then pass your request onto Hartlepool Community Safety Team to handle on behalf of the Safer Hartlepool Partnership.
