Domestic Abuse - Find Support

Domestic abuse is socially unacceptable. Everyone deserves to, and should, live without fear. There is no excuse.

Breaking away from an abusive relationship can be easier said than done, especially when children are involved.  The prospect of leaving an abusive relationship can be as frightening as the prospect of staying.

As well as refuge accommodation, Habour offer a range of services to help those experiencing abuse, including help with:

  • Securing safe, permanent housing
  • Accessing legal advice
  • Accessing financial advice
  • Accessing health care
  • Your relationship with your children
  • Helping you rebuild your confidence
  • Helping you rebuild your interests and social networks

Personal Safety Apps

Hollie Guard App

Hollie Guard turns your smartphone into an advanced personal safety defice at the touch of a button.  If in danger, simply shake your phone to generate an alert, your location, audio and video evidence of the incident will automatically be sent to your emergency contact via text and email.  Shake it again and it sends out a high pitched alarm and the flash starts to strobe, in order to attract maximum attention.

From the moment Hollie Guard is activated, your location is tracked and can be viewed in real time by your emergency contact.  Evidence is not stored on the smartphone but on secure servers so that it can be used in future as evidence.

Bright Sky App

Bright Sky is a free to download mobile app providing support and information to anyone who may be in an abusive relationship or those concerned about someone they know.

The app is also designed to be used by specialist and non-specialist practitioners and other employers, and for anyone looking for information about issues around domestic abuse such as online safety, stalking and harassment and sexual consent.
