We are committed to maintaining green spaces across the town to a high standard while supporting biodiversity and sustainability.
Grass cutting schedule
Residential grassed areas are cut regularly from mid-March or April to November, depending on weather conditions.
- low-use or low-profile areas are managed as grass meadows and cut twice a year.
- areas with naturalising spring bulbs are left uncut until eight weeks after flowering ends.
- wildflower areas are left uncut until after the first frost, then flailed and left to decompose, returning nutrients to the soil.
Grass clippings
We generally do not collect grass clippings. However, we take care to minimise the impact of clippings on:
- pavements
- footpaths
- hardstanding areas
Our team
All grass cutting is carried out by trained operatives using specialist machinery to ensure safety and quality.
