Guidance for During Your Pregnancy

Smoking When Pregnant

Protecting your baby from tobacco smoke is one of the best things you can do to give them the best start in life.  It can be hard to stop smoking but it’s never too late.  It's hard to imagine when you can't see your baby, but everything you breathe in passes through to your baby (including secondhand smoke). Each cigarette contains more than 4,000 chemicals.

For some tips for stopping smoking make sure you check out the NHS website here and NHS Start4Life site here which offers support and advice for stopping.
