Apply for a new street name or numbering
An application for a new street name or numbering for a development should include plans showing the proposed new roads and buildings with/without the suggested names for the development. Subject to consultation with the Post Office and Emergency Services, Hartlepool Borough Council will give final approval for the naming and numbering of the development.

Numbering streets and buildings
Renumbering or renaming streets and buildings - renaming/renumbering existing streets and buildings is normally only considered when changes occur which give rise (or are likely to give rise) to problems for the occupiers, Post Office, Emergency Services, etc.
Costs
Large developments: £170.00 per new road name and £12.00 per plot
Small developments which do not include a new road name: £75.00 per property
Re-naming of a property: £35.00
