The Benefits Section will decide how many bedrooms your family will need, according to the Housing Benefit rules.
One bedroom is allowed for each of the following.
- A couple
- Someone who is over 16 years old
- Two children of the same sex under the age of 16
- Any two children regardless of sex aged under 10
- Any other child under 16
The above is used to calculate your 'maximum rent'. Your actual Housing Benefit entitlement is still based on your amount of income and savings so you may not get the full rate of Local Housing Allowance.
