LGA Corporate Peer Challenge

LGA Corporate Peer Challenge - December 2022

Hartlepool Borough Council hosted a visit by the Local Government Association (LGA) Corporate Peer Challenge Team from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th December 2022. The LGA brought a a team of experienced officers and members from other Local Authorities across the country to spend time with us as ‘peers’ to provide challenge and share learning. It was an opportunity for us to share what we do here in Hartlepool and at the end of the visit we received a comprehensive report and some recommendations.

Following the visit an action plan was prepared and agreed by Council in March 2023 and this sets out how we intend to respond to the recommendations made by the Peer Team.

As part of the Corporate Peer Review process each authority receives a  progress review visit. This enables us to update the Peer Team on the progress that we have made since their last visit and for them to give us further feedback on our approach and share their reflections on any new opportunities or challenges that have arisen since they were on site. This progress review took place on 30th August 2023 and we will receive a feedback report that we will share here.
