Dog fouling

Dog fouling is unpleasant, unhygienic, and can be a health risk, especially to children. It is your legal responsibility to clean up after your dog immediately.

It’s an offence not to pick up dog mess

If you fail to clean up after your dog, you could face:

  • a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice
  • or a £1,000 fine if prosecuted in court

Report a cleansing problem

Please include as much detail as possible, such as:

  • the exact location
  • time and date of the incident
  • description of the dog or owner (if known)

Be a responsible dog owner

  • always carry dog waste bags when walking your dog
  • if there’s no bin nearby, take waste home and dispose of it in your household waste bin
