THERE’S an opportunity for companies to learn the best approach to winning business from the public sector – including Hartlepool Borough Council – at a special breakfast event next week.

Called ‘Doing Business With Hartlepool Borough Council – The Right Approach To Winning Business With The Public Sector’, it’s on Tuesday 6 February from 8am to 11am at Tees and Hartlepool Yacht Club, West Harbour, Hartlepool.

The event – which follows on from an introductory event last October – is free and is organised by NEPO, the North-East procurement organisation, in partnership with the Council.

There will be some top tips on how to prepare and bid for public sector opportunities from Garry Stone of B2B North, a company which advises businesses and organisations on bidding for tenders and contracts.

Also, a team from NEPO will be offering one-to-one advice to help firms get the most out of the NEPO Portal, specialists from Hartlepool Borough Council will be on hand to discuss local opportunities and support for growing businesses and members of the Council’s Adult Education team will be available to give employers information about training opportunities.

Councillor Kevin Cranney, Chair of the Council’s Regeneration Services Committee, said: “The Council spends millions of pounds each year relating to goods, services and works and it is always on the lookout for new and local suppliers.

“This event is a great opportunity for local companies and organisations of all sizes to learn more about the right ways to go about winning business not just from us but from other public sector organisations in the Tees Valley and the wider North-East.”

The event starts with registration, breakfast and refreshments from 8am, followed by the presentations from 8.30am onwards.

Places at the event are limited (maximum of two people per organisation). They must be booked in advance online by clicking here.
