RESIDENTS of Hartlepool are being urged to get on their bikes and ride to work for a chance to win some great prizes.

Ride to Work Week which runs until Sunday (March 18), offers people the chance to log rides online and be entered into a draw.

The initiative is being organised by Love to Ride Tees Valley with support from the Hartlepool Active Travel Hub.

The prizes on offer include 5 European city breaks and 5 £100 shopping vouchers.

You can sign up for Ride to Work Week and register a ride at https://www.lovetoride.net/teesvalley.

Ride to Work Week

Tony Davison, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Sustainable Travel Officer who co-ordinates the work of the Hartlepool Active Travel Hub to promote sustainable travel, said: “People who cycle to work regularly soon discover the benefits in terms of being fitter and healthier.

“Ride to Work Week is open to all employees and it doesn’t matter if they haven’t been on a bike for years. They only have to ride for ten minutes or more for their participation to count. They can ride wherever they feel comfortable and whenever they like during the week.

“We hope that when people discover just how beneficial and fun cycling is they will continue to get on their bikes.”
