Don't miss out on half term Halloween fun at Oscars

Parents in Hartlepool are reminded about an action-packed week of hair-raising Halloween fun for children at Oscars during the October half term break.

The Hartlepool Council-run Oscar club is based at Rossmere Youth Centre on Rossmere Way and offers an exciting package of activities for children aged 3 to 16, running from Monday 29 October until Friday 2 November.

Each day parents are able drop off their children from 8.00am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. They then embark on an action-packed day of ghoulish games and spooky surprises prior to being collected by parents by 5.45pm.

The Halloween-themed week of fun kicks off with a toy morning, pumpkin carving and a Boos vs. Ghouls afternoon of games, quizzes and competitions.

Throughout the week youngsters will have the chance to conjure up their own crafty Halloween costume, embark on a spooky scavenger hunt, have fun with frightful food, show off their scary sporting skills at spider football and ghost bowling, and dance the day away at a Halloween party.

Sandra Robinson, the Council’s Out of School Coordinator, explains: “Our annual October half term week is always packed full of fearsome fun.

“Our team works hard to develop exciting and engaging Halloween-themed activities, and our facilities here at Rossmere Youth Centre are excellent, enabling us to organise numerous themed sports, street dancing, arts and crafts activities.

“Parents can relax knowing that their children are enjoying themselves and are in safe hands, so we encourage parents to get in touch as soon as possible to book their children a space for what is sure to be a week of hair-raising Halloween fun.”

The service, which has been running for over 25 years, was hailed as “outstanding” by Ofsted inspectors.

Oscars also operate an after-school service on weekdays which involves children being collected from school and transported to the centre where they take part in a wide range of educational and fun activities. Parents then have until 6pm to collect their children.
