Fantastic February half-term fun at Oscars

Hartlepool parents are reminded about an action-packed week of fun for children at Oscars during the February half-term break.

The Hartlepool Council-run Oscar club is based at Rossmere Youth Centre on Rossmere Way and offers an exciting package of activities for children aged 3 to 16.

Each day parents are able drop off their children from 8am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. They then embark on an action-packed day of fun and thrills prior to being collected by parents by 5.45pm.

The week of fun, which starts on Monday 18th February and runs until Friday 22nd February, kicks off with a toy day (no mobiles or tablets), football, and craft sessions where children can make dream catchers, Hama beads and models.

Throughout the week youngsters will have the chance to take part in a Marvel Avengers vs. Justice League tournament, enjoy a trip to Vue Cinema, battle it out to become Oscars’ Star Baker, and relax at a popcorn and pamper party.

Sandra Robinson, the Council’s Out of School Coordinator, explains: “We’ve got a wide range of really exciting activities planned for February half term.

“The cold weather hasn’t stopped our team from devising a schedule of exciting new activities to keep children entertained, and the facilities are excellent at Rossmere Youth Centre which enables us to organise numerous sports, arts and crafts and much more.

“The emphasis is always on fun at Oscars and parents can relax knowing that their children are enjoying themselves and are in safe hands.”

Parents are reminded that children must bring a healthy packed lunch with an ice pack, plenty of drinks and warm coats, hats, gloves, scarves and wellies every day.

Oscars also operate an after-school service on weekdays which involves children being collected from school and transported to the centre where they take part in a wide range of educational and fun activities. Parents then have until 6pm to collect their children.
