Chance to Meet the Makers at Spring Launch Even

Hartlepool Art Gallery’s first ever Spring Launch event takes place on Friday 17 May from 5pm to 8.30pm and is open to everyone. Visitors will be given an exclusive peek at the new season shop collection as well as an opportunity to talk to the artist makers and learn more about the pieces.

The evening will feature musical entertainment from Hartlepool hipster-hop duo Pek & Wanley who will be greeting guests at the door with their amazing acoustic covers and a complimentary glass of wine.

As part of the Spring Launch evening, a pop up exhibition from the second year, Fine Art students from The Northern School Of Art will also be on display within the Gallery. The ‘Generation Dystopia’ exhibition will include a variety of mixed media works ranging from print making, painting, photography, textiles and more.

"We are really excited to host our first ever Spring Launch event at the Gallery, it’s going to be a fantastic event with so much going on, from creative drop in activities, the beats of Pek & Wanley, nibbles from our friends over at Hops & Cheese plus a variety of stalls selling everything from beautiful vintage cushions to handcrafted jewellery.”  Says Ashley Landsbury, Museum and Art Gallery Manager at Hartlepool Borough Council.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to take away a beautiful piece of artwork from the Gallery’s current exhibition Painters Outdoors: Plein Air in the North which captures local scenes of beauty or the Generation Dystopia exhibition through the Own Art Scheme.
