Resurfacing works planned throughout June to improve borough’s roads

Drivers are advised that essential road resurfacing works will be carried out in the coming weeks on various routes across Hartlepool.

The resurfacing works - which are being funded through the Council’s ‘Highway Improvement Funding Programme’ - will repair surface damage caused by adverse weather conditions on various roads, whilst also making necessary improvements to residential neighbourhoods.

Please see below further information on the full schedule of works. Whilst the works are being carried out, particular sections of road will be closed to traffic. Diversion routes will be in place with signs to inform drivers.

Residents should also be advised that scheduled works may be delayed in the event of adverse weather conditions.

The Council apologises for any inconvenience which this essential resurfacing work may cause.

 

Avenue Road

Resurfacing works will be carried out on the section of Avenue Road between Raby Road and Victoria Road, and additionally around the Avenue Road area, from Monday 3rd June to Friday 7th June. The works will start daily at 6pm and finish at 2am the following morning.

Whilst the works are being carried out, a signposted diversion will be in place at all times.

 

Dalton Street

The works will take place along the full length of Dalton Street from Saturday 15th June to Sunday 16th June. The works will begin on Saturday (15th) at 6pm and finish at midnight. Work will recommence the following morning at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm the same day.

Businesses located on Dalton Street will be notified by letter prior to the resurfacing works taking place. Pedestrian access will be maintained to Dalton Street throughout the duration.

 

Raby Road

The works will be carried out on the section of Raby Road between Grainger Street and Chester Road from Saturday 22nd June to Sunday 23rd June.

The works will begin at 6pm on Saturday (22nd) and finish at midnight. The following day, work will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm.

For phase 2 of the works, planing works will begin from Philips Road to Hurworth Street on Saturday 29nd June from 6pm until midnight. Carriageway surfacing and marking works will then take place on Sunday 30th June, beginning at 7.30am and finishing at 4.30pm.

Whilst the works are being carried out, this particular section of road will be closed to traffic, and a signposted diversion will be in place.
