A last-minute change to the line-up for Hartlepool Live, the town’s new multi-venue music festival, will see a Ross Millard (The Futureheads) DJ Set replace a Reverend and the Makers DJ Set.

Ross Millard, vocalist and guitarist with North-East band The Futureheads, will be taking to the DJ stand and continuing the party from 11pm – 12am on Saturday at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre.

After forming in Sunderland back in 2000, The Futureheads have gone on to have hits with ‘Hounds of Love’, ‘Decent Days and Nights’ and their latest release ‘Jekyll’. The band have also recently announced that they are returning with a new album ‘Powers’ on August 30th and have a UK Tour planned with pit stops at Latitude Festival and Victorious Festival.

The first ever Hartlepool Live, commissioned by Hartlepool Borough Council and run in partnership with local musician James Leonard Hewitson, is taking place on Saturday from 1pm with stages across five venues including Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre, The Studio, Hops and Cheese, Chilli Cake Kitchen & Bar and The Contemporary (13-14 Church Street).

Millard will be in great company at Hartlepool Live, with other big names including experimental rock Welsh three-piece Gallops and Maximo Park frontman and local lad Paul Smith who is confirmed as the headline act.

The festival line-up will also include over 25 local bands who are making waves in the music scene, including Para Alta, PLAZA, Mouses, Lost State of Dance, Shamu, Max Bianco and the Bluehearts, VENUS, James Leonard Hewitson and Mt.Misery.

With hundreds of festival-goers attending the event from all over the Tees Valley, music fans are being urged to book their tickets now to avoid disappointment on the day as organisers say the music festival has also reached full capacity and is extremely close to selling out.

Tickets are available now for £15 or £18 on the door, providing the event has not sold out.

The latest line-up, set times and information on wristband collection can be found on the Hartlepool Live Facebook page and from www.destinationhartlepool.com

Tickets are available from www.destinationhartlepool.com or the box office on (01429) 890000 (Tuesdays-Fridays 10am – 4.30pm, Saturdays 10am–4pm).
